"PAC" stands for Political Action Committee, a vehicle through which organizations, such as the New York State Credit Union League (NYSCUL) and Credit Union National Association (CUNA), collect and disburse members’ campaign contributions to legislators and candidates.
PACs allow groups sharing a common interest to pool their contributions. Legislators, in turn, identify with the group—in this case, credit unions— because the size of PAC contributions is significant and demonstrates our "strength in numbers" and dollars.
Welcome to the Bethpage Federal Credit Union Political Action Committee.
In 2004, Bethpage launched its Political Action Committee (PAC). The purpose of our PAC is to raise money that can be used to contribute to the local, state and federal officials who support credit unions in any way.
Our PAC funds help Bethpage build relationships with representatives from the House, Senate, State Senate and State Assembly. Without these resources, credit unions would not have a tax exemption, be able to expand into new markets or consistently improve upon their best in market rates.
With the support of members through participation in fundraising events or donations, Bethpage can further develop our relationship with elected officials. This will help Bethpage Federal Credit Union give even more back to our members and continue to be the best financial institution on Long Island.
If you have any questions about the Bethpage PAC, I am here to help. Feel free to contact me at 516-349-6710 or lcameron@bethpagefcu.com.
Thank you so much for your support of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union Political Action Committee and continue to look on our website for exciting new PAC events.
